• 2+ years of PHP development experience including writing, testing, and maintaining production code.
• Experience with web scraping including building and maintaining scrapers at scale.
• Hands-on experience with WebDriver/Chromedriver for browser automation.
• Experience with Guzzle or similar PHP HTTP client libraries.
• Ability to understand complex data sets and translate data requirements into engineering solutions.
• Comfortable working with websites in multiple languages.

Nice to have:

• Strong understanding and practical experience in online retail (e-commerce).
• Experience scraping data from smartphone apps.
• Knowledge of proxies, IP-switching services, and related tools in web scraping contexts.

• Develop new web scrapers to capture data from websites using high-quality PHP code meeting functional and technical requirements.
• Support and maintain data acquisition operations, fixing scrapers when broken due to website changes and resolving data quality issues.
• Write and execute tests for new and existing code to ensure reliability and accuracy.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects across the data acquisition pipeline.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to establishing best practices.
• Create and maintain documentation for code, processes, and data mappings.
• Continuously improve scrapers for better performance, reliability, and accuracy.
• Analyse data from scrapers to ensure completeness and accuracy, collaborating with Data Quality Analysts.
• Collaborate with web scraping engineers, product managers, and Data Quality Analysts to ensure comprehensive data quality.
• Provide guidance and support to junior developers and assist in onboarding new team members.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to improve development processes.
