Senior DevOps Engineer

Fundraise Up is a global fundraising platform that powers donations for nonprofits worldwide, including UNICEF and the Alzheimer's Association. The company operates an enterprise segment serving nonprofits across North America, the UK, Australia, and Europe. Their platform comprises a complex product ecosystem featuring a modern checkout experience, customizable widgets (each a standalone SPA), donor, organization, and partner portals, admin tools, and several internal apps. Their backend technology stack includes Node.js (Koa, NestJS) and MongoDB, with frontend technologies such as Webpack, Vue.js, and React, primarily written in TypeScript. The team consists of 160+ professionals, including 80+ engineers dispersed across several countries, emphasizing technical curiosity and knowledge sharing.

• Minimum 6 years experience as a DevOps Engineer or SRE with ownership of end-to-end technical initiatives
• Confident in Linux (Ubuntu) administration
• Working knowledge of the Prometheus stack (metrics, exporters, alerting)
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline design and build orchestration
• Proficient with containers including Docker image building and registries
• Experience with Ansible, Git, and scripting with Bash or Python for automation and observability
• Production/on-call experience including incident diagnosis, restoration, and leading post-mortems
• Proven mentoring skills for junior engineers
• Strong ownership and attention to detail under high-stakes conditions

Must have solid hands-on experience in two or more:

• VictoriaMetrics / Prometheus stack at scale
• Log pipelines at scale: Graylog / VictoriaLogs / ELK with collection tools like fluent bit
• Jenkins scripted pipelines and shared libraries
• Container registries/artifact management: Harbor, Nexus
• Operating applications on Kubernetes: Helm, monitoring, troubleshooting
• Grafana dashboards as code and alerting at scale

Bonus points:

• Experience with analytics & DS platforms (JupyterHub, Airflow, Tableau, MLflow, Airbyte)
• Remote development environments and AI agent execution environments like Coder/Telepresence
• Bare-metal Kubernetes provisioning, networking, scaling
• Flux, GitOps
• Terraform
• Self-hosted Sentry operation
• Experience with ClickHouse, MongoDB

• Own one core platform area end-to-end: observability (including VictoriaMetrics, Grafana, Graylog / VictoriaLogs, fluent bit, exporters, alerting) or CI/CD (including Jenkins scripted pipelines, Harbor, Nexus, build agents)
• Drive technical initiatives from requirements, design, implementation, to production and maintenance
• Define clarity in ambiguous situations by specifying requirements, assumptions, and next steps
• Design systems for reliability and scalability, evolving architecture, integration, and reliability models
• Support developers by deploying and monitoring applications on on-premise servers and Kubernetes (Helm), troubleshooting builds and deploys, and assisting with metrics, alerts, and logs
• Automate repetitive operations, provisioning, and maintenance
• Investigate production incidents as senior escalation, lead resolution and post-mortems, participate in on-call rotations
• Mentor less experienced engineers through design discussions, code reviews, and pairing
• Use AI in day-to-day tasks such as researching, troubleshooting, and development
