Senior Quality Engineer

• Strong background in test automation / SDET with ability to design and build testing frameworks.
• Experience defining testing strategies and processes across multiple teams.
• Good understanding of distributed systems, event-driven patterns, messaging, and common integration failure points.
• Practical knowledge of performance testing tools: k6, Gatling, JMeter, Locust with ability to interpret results.
• Experience with at least one chaos/fault injection approach or a plan to implement one (e.g., Toxiproxy, Chaos Mesh, Litmus, Gremlin).
• Comfortable working with containers and orchestration tools (Docker, Docker Swarm, or Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitLab CI).
• Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK) and understanding of good signal quality.
• Strong documentation skills, technical credibility, and communication skills to lead teams and influence developers and platform engineers.

Nice to have:

• Experience in iGaming or other regulated high-availability domains (payments, fintech, betting), including knowledge of responsible gambling, licensing constraints, or DORA resilience requirements.
• Experience with contract API testing (e.g., Pact), data validation tools, and security testing (DAST, ZAP, dependency scanning).

• Take end-to-end responsibility for testing processes across all product domains.

• Design testing processes from scratch, including levels, gates, environments, data, tools, and integration with GitLab CI pipeline and developer workflows.

• Build and lead a dedicated quality engineering sub-team, defining standards and providing technical mentorship.

• Maintain hygiene of documentation in Confluence such as test strategies, processes, framework decisions, and runbooks for audibility.

• Design and perform integration and end-to-end tests within product domains and integration layers (API gateway, event brokers, service mesh), including contract testing between services.

• Conduct resilience and chaos testing by injecting faults, simulating network degradation and dependency failures, verifying graceful degradation without cascading effects.

• Test data consistency between modules and asynchronous flows, ensuring eventual consistency and correct event ordering.

• Perform performance and scalability testing (load, stress, soak) according to defined SLOs, analyze capacity and identify bottlenecks.

• Execute failover and recovery testing by simulating node and service failures, validating RTO/RPO, backup/restore procedures, and continuity scenarios.

• Verify observability and security by checking metrics, logs, traces during failures, and run basic security tests (API authentication, OWASP classes, dependency scanning) together with DORA/security team.
