Senior QA Engineer (Mobile & IoT)

intent is a software house with over 10+ years of experience in conceptualizing, designing, and building apps for IoT and connected devices. They act as a specialized think partner for products at the intersection of physical and digital, including wearables and IoT, serving clients such as Oura, BOSE, and McIntosh audio systems.

• At least 4 years of professional experience as a mobile tester.
• Experience building testing approaches or test cases from scratch.
• Experience with IoT testing including firmware, OTA, device connectivity, and hardware–software interaction.
• Familiarity with IoT protocols such as Bluetooth, BLE, NFC, Wi-Fi, and Thread.
• Practical understanding of hardware workflows like firmware updates, pairing, resets, and failure scenarios.
• Experience with test case management tools such as TestRail or Qase and Atlassian tools.
• At least B2 level English skills (written and spoken).
• Self-reliance, responsibility for assigned tasks, and effective time management.
• Proactive incorporation of industry trends into technology.
• Team engagement and collaboration.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of automated test creation and maintenance.
• Experience in API testing (Postman preferred) and database testing.
• Experience with web app testing and web-debugging proxy tools (e.g., Charles, Proxyman).
• ISTQB Foundation or higher certificate.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.

• Conduct compatibility testing for interoperability among IoT devices, sensors, gateways, protocols, and platforms.
• Verify functional correctness of IoT applications including data collection, storage, processing, real-time monitoring, control, and integration.
• Perform performance testing under various workloads, network conditions, and environmental factors.
• Conduct security testing for IoT devices, communication protocols, data transmission, access controls, and authentication.
• Estimate work effort.
• Mentor less experienced team members.
• Participate in requirement discussion meetings and daily calls, providing feedback on inconsistencies and open issues.
• Engage in knowledge sharing with other technical team members.
