CD PROJEKT RED is a company focused on creating revolutionary, story-driven RPGs. This position is part of the Warsaw studio team working on "CP2", the next game in the Cyberpunk franchise.
Wymagania
- 3+ years of experience in World Art QA, Art Testing, or similar game development quality roles.
- Experience with risk-based test plans for World Art features.
- Working knowledge of DCC tools such as Blender for investigating asset pipeline issues.
- Strong understanding of AAA environment pipelines including asset implementation, collision, lighting, materials, LODs, Nanite, World Partition, and streaming systems.
- Experience documenting defects using bug-tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
- Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine, including debugging and profiling tools.
- Ability to identify, isolate, reproduce, and report technical and visual defects related to World Art.
- Strong collaboration skills with World Artists, Technical Artists, Designers, Engineers, and external partners.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with structured, risk-based testing approach.
- Excellent attention to detail for environmental quality, visual consistency, composition, scale, and player experience.
- Passion for video games, World Art, environmental storytelling, and immersive experiences.
Nice to have:
- Experience testing games on various platforms including PC, consoles, VR.
- Understanding of narration systems including linear, branching, nonlinear, procedural, and emergent storytelling.
- Familiarity with commercial game engines (Unreal Engine, Unity).
- Basic knowledge of QA automation tools or scripting.
Obowiązki
- Develop World Art QA test plans and strategies focusing on environment quality, world composition, asset implementation, collision, streaming, lighting, and technical art validation.
- Write and maintain test cases and validation checklists covering asset integration, collision integrity, traversal, world partition and streaming behavior, LOD transitions, Nanite validation, material consistency, lighting, and visual fidelity.
- Create, maintain, and organize test documentation, testing methodologies, defect reports, and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with World Artists, Technical Artists, Designers, Engineers, and Production to meet artistic vision, gameplay requirements, and technical specifications.
- Conduct strategic testing of game environments, focusing on composition, asset placement, collision, traversal, streaming performance, lighting quality, terrain, foliage, destructibles, storytelling, and overall player experience.
- Identify, reproduce, document, and verify defects related to world art, assets, rendering, collision, streaming, lighting, performance, and stability.
- Analyze technical and content risks associated with environments, asset pipelines, rendering systems, world partition, memory usage, and performance.
- Provide constructive feedback on environmental quality distinguishing artistic feedback from technical issues.
- Test and evaluate world performance and stability across target platforms, ensuring reliable streaming, rendering, memory use, frame rate, traversal, and gameplay stability.
- Utilize Unreal Engine debugging and visualization tools to investigate rendering, lighting, Nanite, collision, world partition, and asset pipeline issues.
- Establish quality bars and technical/artistic expectations through collaboration with teams and external partners.
- Build trusted partnerships within development pods, participate in content reviews, and advocate for quality enabling rapid iteration and high-quality content delivery.
