Senior Software Engineer (Qodana Core)

JetBrains creates intelligent software development tools for developers and teams, used by over 15 million users, more than 300,000 companies, and 88 of the Fortune Global Top 100. The role is within the JetBrains Cloud Platform team, working on the Qodana project, which integrates static code analysis into CI/CD pipelines to improve code quality and security for development teams.

• Deep, practical knowledge of JVM development such as Kotlin or Java.
• Experience designing and implementing complex algorithms or performance-critical backend architectures.
• Fluent communication skills in English.
• Curiosity about code structure, compilers, and static analysis.
• Proactive mindset to improve processes and systems.
• Strong collaboration and logical reasoning skills.
• Comfortable working in a distributed international team.
• Focus on quality and long-term maintainability.
• Experience with developer tooling, static analysis, application security, or LLM-based applications is a plus.
• Familiarity with languages beyond JVM such as C++, Rust, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, .NET, or Go is valuable.

• Design and implement new static analysis checks, rules, and inter-procedural analysis algorithms.
• Extend capabilities in license compliance, security, and vulnerability detection.
• Optimize code analysis execution and orchestrate performance based on project context.
• Build and refine CI/CD integrations for Qodana.
• Collaborate with compiler and IDE teams at JetBrains.
• Take ownership of features from concept to release, iterating based on feedback.
