Tech Lead Fullstack Engineer - Agentic AI

HERE Technologies is a location data and technology platform company serving the logistics industry by building core backend systems and AI solutions that optimize deliveries at scale to improve driver efficiency, increase reliability, reduce operational costs, and lower environmental impact.

• Proven experience as a technical lead or senior engineer with strong backend development skills
• Strong proficiency in Python with experience building APIs (e.g., FastAPI) and backend systems; TypeScript is a plus
• Experience architecting scalable and distributed systems with real-world load considerations
• Strong command of API design, data modeling, and system integration patterns, including streaming/event-driven protocols (e.g., SSE, websockets)
• Hands-on experience building or leading agentic AI systems, including LLM orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph or LangChain, RAG pipelines, or multi-agent architectures
• Experience with cloud platforms, ideally AWS (including managed LLM services like Bedrock), and modern CI/CD practices (e.g., GitLab CI)
• Experience integrating with external/third-party APIs and handling real-world production constraints
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills for production environments, including non-deterministic LLM-driven systems
• Experience mentoring engineers and conducting code/design reviews
• Ability to break down ambiguous problems into well-defined work
• Excellent communication skills, aligning engineering decisions with product and business priorities

• Lead the design, build, and maintenance of core backend services, APIs, and workflow orchestration systems for logistics applications
• Drive integrations with HERE APIs and external third-party systems
• Translate ambiguous product and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable system components
• Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code in Python and/or TypeScript
• Design and build agentic AI systems based on LangGraph, shaping LLM orchestration and multi-agent architecture
• Lead system design discussions and own key architectural decisions
• Build and maintain customer-facing APIs focusing on usability, performance, and reliability
• Ensure high-quality delivery with testing, monitoring, and debugging in production environments, including LLM-driven systems
• Mentor engineers through code review, design feedback, and pairing
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and domain experts to deliver features
• Continuously improve system performance, scalability, and operational efficiency
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve development speed and code quality
