Team Lead PHP Engineer

• Maturity and self-sufficiency in owning tasks and whole features end-to-end
• 6+ years of backend development experience; 1–2+ years leading or mentoring a small team
• Strong PHP skills with a modern framework (Yii2 and/or Laravel)
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL and/or PostgreSQL)
• Expertise in Git and Docker
• Software architecture design and testing discipline from high-load projects
• Task estimation, decomposition, and prioritization aligned with business goals
• Cross-functional stakeholder communication and ownership
• Professional-level English for daily written and spoken collaboration

• Develop the payments and billing codebase and contribute to its technical direction
• Take experiments and gateway integrations end-to-end: scope, build, analyze, deliver a verdict
• Optimize existing payment systems for reliability, performance, and security
• Lead people by running 1:1s and PDPs, mentoring, and keeping the team aligned and resilient
• Maintain production payments and troubleshoot issues as part of an on-duty rotation
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Growth on payment initiatives
• Use AI-assisted development in daily work
