• Proven experience managing software engineering teams, including direct people leadership (hiring, coaching, performance management).
• Track record owning delivery of team commitments: scope, timelines, and quality in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong command of execution practices: sprint/iteration planning, estimation, and delivery cadence.
• Experience partnering with Product and Design to negotiate scope and priorities.
• Comfort managing risk, dependencies, and delivery trade-offs across a team.
• Experience owning team-level operational excellence, including on-call and incident response.
• Track record building and driving process from the ground up, with high autonomy.
• Strong track record influencing senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners, not just direct reports.
• Proven ability to independently build the case for hiring and capacity needs, not just execute against a pre-set plan.
• Comfortable creating clarity and structure in ambiguous or fast-changing environments.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience partnering with Principal/Staff engineers on architecture alignment, without owning it directly.
• Background scaling a team through significant headcount or product growth.
• Experience operating in a fully remote, distributed team environment.
• Familiarity with working in a SOC 2 or similarly compliance-driven engineering organization.

• Own delivery of team commitments — scope, timelines, and quality.
• Build and lead high-performing engineering teams.
• Drive execution practices: planning, estimation, and delivery cadence.
• Ensure clear ownership and accountability within the team.
• Hire, develop, and retain engineers.
