QA Lead

CD PROJEKT RED develops revolutionary, story-driven RPGs. The role supports the Cyberpunk 2 project, focusing on gameplay quality assurance and team management within a large-scale RPG development environment.

• 5+ years of experience leading or managing QA teams.
• 5+ years experience in performance management and career development.
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, bug workflows, defect management, test planning, coverage, QA practices, and quality reporting.
• Experience with game engines and editors, preferably Unreal Engine.
• Understanding of game development lifecycles and ability to develop and execute testing strategies covering integration, stress, performance, stability, tools, engine, platform, and technical features.
• Experience with QA metrics, KPIs, bug trends.
• Experience with performance analysis, profiling tools, crash analysis, memory investigations, platform-specific testing, or console development environments.
• Experience with Unreal Insights, engine profiling, crash debugging.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills for reporting quality status, risks, blockers, and priorities.
• Experience creating and maintaining test documentation, test plans, test reports, dashboards, or quality summaries.
• Experience improving QA workflows, reporting models, dashboards, technical metrics, or test management processes.
• Experience working with external QA vendors and distributed or cross-location teams.
• Strong ownership, accountability, emotional maturity, and ability to work under pressure and changing priorities.
• Alignment with RED values acting as a role model in communication, decision-making, collaboration, and leadership.
• Availability to work 10:00 AM–6:00 PM to overlap with the Boston team.

Nice to have:

• Experience working on AAA titles.
• Experience with User Experience Research (UXR), focus groups, usability testing, and gathering player feedback.
• Experience with automation frameworks, automated test authorship, build verification, CI/CD pipelines, or technical validation workflows.
• Interest in the Cyberpunk universe and passion for delivering high-quality player experiences in large-scale RPGs.

• Lead, mentor, and develop the gameplay QA team, fostering accountability and continuous skill growth.
• Adapt and implement Polaris QA strategy into practical testing approaches, measurable outcomes, and team priorities.
• Own testing execution and milestone verification, ensuring timely completion and gameplay quality standards.
• Monitor gameplay quality metrics, KPIs, and bug trends to identify risks early and build mitigation plans.
• Partner with development, production, and external QA vendors to coordinate dependencies and gameplay requests.
• Maintain clear, data-informed reporting on quality status, blockers, and project readiness.
• Drive continuous improvements in QA workflows, tools, testing frameworks, documentation, and team effectiveness.
• Provide direct assistance with complex investigations, issue analysis, and debugging workflows when required.

Relocation to Poland is required for candidates residing abroad. Candidates must demonstrate English proficiency at minimum C1 level. Availability to work 10:00 AM–6:00 PM is mandatory to overlap with the Boston team.
