Senior AI Applied Software Engineer (Fullstack)

Backbase is an R&D company focused on redefining financial management software, serving over 100 financial institutions worldwide with its platform focused on Entitlements, which handles Access Control, Approvals, and Limits.

• 5–7+ years of professional experience developing complex, high-traffic products.
• Strong backend skills with mastery of Java, Spring JPA/Hibernate, and Maven.
• Experience with Microservices architecture; familiarity with Netflix OSS and Cloud technologies is a plus.
• Proficient frontend skills in Angular and TypeScript with expertise in RxJS and modern build systems such as Webpack and Jenkins.
• Solid understanding of Enterprise Integration Patterns and system design.
• Experience improving tooling, reducing technical debt, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent English communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Previous experience in Fintech or Banking is highly considered an advantage.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Vue.js framework.
• Knowledge of Netflix OSS and Cloud technologies.

• Lead full Software Development Life Cycle ownership from concept through release and maintenance of digital banking products.
• Improve system architecture integrating APIs and microservices.
• Provide technical leadership by mentoring junior engineers and conducting critical code reviews.
• Contribute to AI innovations including LLM-based voice assistants and real-time personalization engines using OpenAI and ML models.
• Implement security-focused features such as Entitlements and fraud prevention services ensuring scalability and resilience.
• Collaborate with Architects, Product Owners, and UX Designers in a Pod-based work model to align technical solutions with business needs.

The position requires living in Kraków or nearby and willingness to work hybrid mode twice per week from the office.
