Tech Lead, Platform Reliability Engineering

• Strong software engineering background with production code and system design experience.
• 8+ years of experience building and operating backend systems at scale.
• Experience leading technical projects and influencing cross-team technical direction.
• Ability to improve others through clarity, feedback, and raising technical standards without formal authority.
• Familiarity with distributed systems patterns including backpressure, graceful degradation, and capacity planning.
• Experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, and monitoring tools like Datadog.
• Experience defining and working with explicit reliability and performance targets for production systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity and decision-making.

Important: This is a software engineering role focused on system building, not scripting or operational playbooks.

• Set technical direction for the team and ensure effective problem-solving.
• Design and build core platform reliability systems including load shedding, circuit breakers, and rate limiting.
• Own critical platform concerns like ingress and egress traffic flow.
• Define stable interfaces and libraries for use by other platform teams.
• Lead end-to-end projects from scoping, design to rollout across multiple teams.
• Conduct code reviews, design discussions, and provide technical mentorship.
• Collaborate with other infrastructure teams to embed reliability into the architecture.
• Debug complex system issues to prevent future occurrences.

This role is based in the Warsaw office with an office-centric hybrid schedule requiring presence on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Employment is offered under a Contract of Employment (UoP) for employees in Poland.
