• 5+ years of progressive experience as a Senior Cloud / Cloud DevOps Engineer including Azure solution architecture
• Strong knowledge of core Azure services, identity, networking, and governance
• Solid understanding of AWS and GCP cost drivers and pricing mechanics
• Hands-on experience designing and operating Kubernetes platforms in production environments (AKS/GKE)
• Strong Terraform skills with modular design, reusable components, CI/CD integration, and governance-in-code
• Practical understanding of FinOps principles including cost allocation, showback/chargeback, optimisation levers, and cost governance
• Automation skills in PowerShell and Bash scripting, configuration management, and DevSecOps delivery
• Data skills including SQL for cost and usage analysis and turning consumption data into actionable insights
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across engineering and financial audiences

Nice to have:

• Experience designing or automating cost optimisation reporting pipelines via APIs or scripted automation
• Multi-cloud depth including AWS, GCP, and familiarity with cloud-native data services (e.g., BigQuery)
• Background in financial services
• FinOps Certified Practitioner, Cloudability/Apptio, or cloud certifications (Azure/AWS/GCP)
• Finance qualification

• Identify cost drivers and implement improvements across Azure, AWS, and GCP including rightsizing, scheduling, tier optimisation, and commitment planning with tracking of outcomes and savings
• Optimise spend for containerised workloads using AKS/Kubernetes through cluster sizing, autoscaling, node pool strategies, workload scheduling, and non-prod environment controls
• Build and maintain reusable Terraform modules embedding landing zone standards such as tagging, cost allocation, policy compliance, and guardrails
• Implement and operate cloud governance patterns to prevent resource sprawl and improve allocation accuracy (tagging/metadata standards, policy-as-code, compliant baselines)
• Automate optimisation and operational controls via PowerShell/Bash, pipelines, and configuration standards aligned with DevSecOps practices
• Support forecasting and variance analysis by translating platform consumption data using SQL into actionable engineering and financial decisions, producing clear stakeholder narratives
• Align with platform teams, delivery squads, and finance partners on cost targets, operational requirements, and technical constraints
• Translate business needs into scalable, production-grade cloud architectures balancing performance, resilience, and cost efficiency
