Senior Software Engineer C#

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong backend engineering skills building and maintaining HTTP APIs/services (REST and/or GraphQL).
• Deep working knowledge of object-oriented design, SOLID principles, and common design patterns with application to architectural decisions. Experience with C#, .NET Core is a plus.
• Solid database fundamentals including schema design, query optimization, indexing, and migration strategy.
• Experience contributing across both modern and legacy framework codebases.
• Fluency with version control (Git workflows), CI/CD, package managers, structured data formats (JSON, YAML), and observability tooling.
• Experience designing reliable, scalable systems with attention to performance, resiliency, and maintainability.
• Demonstrated testing depth across unit, integration, and end-to-end test layers.
• Strong debugging and operational skills to diagnose and resolve production issues using logs, metrics, and traces.
• Experience providing feedback to peers and influencing code quality through design and code reviews.
• Track record of ramping into unfamiliar stacks and shipping production work.
• Treat engineering as a craft through deliberate practice, post-incident learning, and reflection.
• Experience leading projects to completion and mentoring other engineers.
• Proven ability to communicate and collaborate across product, design, and QA teams and drive technical decisions through delivery.
• Experience scoping and decomposing ambiguous problems into shippable increments.
• Experience articulating tradeoffs explicitly (knowing when/when not to apply patterns).

Bonus points for:

• Experience working on “If this Then that” style automation systems.
• Experience with MicroPython, assembly, or low-level programming languages.
• Experience with enterprise-scale microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with event-driven/distributed system design and distributed event streaming platforms (Kafka).
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools effectively while maintaining code quality and safety.
• Familiarity with cloud-native infrastructure and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Exposure to legacy-to-modern framework migrations.
• Working knowledge of application security fundamentals (auth, authorization, input validation, secrets handling).
