Senior QA Automation Engineer (Java | Web | Mobile | API)

Upvanta sp. z o.o. is recruiting for a senior-level QA Automation Engineer to design and develop modern automation test frameworks for web, mobile, and API applications.

• 7–10 years of experience in Quality Assurance with strong focus on test automation.
• Very good knowledge of Java and Maven.
• Practical experience automating tests for web, mobile (iOS/Android), and API applications.
• Proficiency with tools: Selenium or Playwright, Appium (or other mobile automation tools), Perfecto (mobile device testing).
• Strong knowledge of Cucumber (BDD), including Gherkin, feature files, step definitions, and tag management.
• Experience with TestNG.
• Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or SOAP UI.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Knowledge of AWS environments and cloud application testing.
• Very good knowledge of SQL.
• Experience with test and defect management tools (JIRA, Zephyr or similar).
• Familiarity with best practices in test automation.
• Ability to work in Agile environments with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have:

• Experience in banking, finance, or large enterprise systems.
• Building or scaling automation frameworks from scratch.
• Testing solutions covering Web, Mobile, and API simultaneously.
• Knowledge of multi-platform testing strategies and Mobile Cloud platforms.
• Experience with performance or other non-functional testing.

• Design and develop scalable test automation frameworks for web, mobile (iOS/Android), and API applications based on Java and Maven.
• Create and maintain automation scripts using Selenium, Playwright, Appium.
• Build BDD frameworks using Cucumber, including feature files and step definitions.
• Write and execute test scenarios in Given/When/Then format and manage test execution with tags (e.g., @smoke, @regression).
• Configure test environments and manage test execution using Maven and TestNG.
• Test web, mobile (iOS/Android), and API applications (REST and SOAP).
• Validate end-to-end processes covering UI, API, and backend layers.
• Define automation strategies and optimal distribution of manual and automated tests.
• Integrate tests with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Collaborate with applications running in AWS environments.
• Coordinate QA activities in functional, integration, and regression testing.
• Support release management with regression testing, quality reporting, and defect management.
• Maintain traceability between business requirements, test scenarios, and reported bugs.
• Work closely with Developers, Product Owners, and Architects to ensure product quality from early development stages.
• Analyze root causes of defects and manage defects using JIRA and similar tools.
