• Proven experience managing software engineering teams including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• Track record of owning delivery of team commitments on scope, timelines, and quality in fast-paced environments.
• Strong command of execution practices like sprint/iteration planning, estimation, and delivery cadence.
• Experience partnering with Product and Design to negotiate scope and priorities.
• Experience managing risk, dependencies, and delivery trade-offs.
• Experience owning team-level operational excellence including on-call and incident response.
• Track record building and driving processes from the ground up with high autonomy.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
• Proven ability to build the case for hiring and capacity needs independently.
• Comfortable creating clarity and structure in ambiguous or fast-changing environments.

Nice to have:

• Experience partnering with Principal/Staff engineers on architecture alignment.
• Background scaling teams through significant headcount or product growth.
• Experience operating in fully remote, distributed environments.
• Familiarity working in SOC 2 or similarly compliance-driven engineering organizations.
