Mid Android Engineer

Appliscale is an independent Technology Consultancy specializing in bespoke, cloud-based systems and full-cycle engineering - from business analysis to architecture design, development, and deployment. They work across industries such as gaming, proptech, legaltech, and adtech, partnering with startups, scaleups, and Fortune 500 companies worldwide. The current focus is on building intelligent agents that drive automation, streamline operations, and enable scalable agentic ecosystems.

• Minimum of 2 years commercial experience in building Android apps
• Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, testing, data structures, and algorithms
• Hands-on experience solving architectural problems for mobile apps and backend services
• Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD processes
• Understanding of OO design patterns, dependency injection, SOLID principles, and Clean Code
• Ability to work with Agile methodologies such as SCRUM and/or Kanban
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Team player with self-motivation and proactive attitude
• Proficiency in English

Nice to have:

• Experience developing Cloud and Infrastructure solutions with AWS and CI/CD tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Terraform, CircleCI, GitlabCI, Datadog
• Experience with object-oriented or functional languages such as Elixir, C++, C#, Golang, Erlang, Python

• Development and delivery of Android apps for B2B or B2C clients
• Design software architecture between mobile apps and connected systems
• Follow and improve concepts of dependency injection and threading inside apps
• Scope and assess complexity of features
• Continuously improve the quality and performance of mobile apps
• Maintain apps on production used by consumers in several European countries
• Monitor and create prototypes for new technological opportunities (e.g., WearOS)
• Participate in sprint planning, daily sprints, and meetings with product owners
• Collaborate with other team members and teams dependent on developed functionalities
