Business Analyst - Accounting

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related quantitative discipline.
• Strong understanding of IFRS accounting principles, financial reporting, and accounting for financial instruments.
• Knowledge of Product Control, financial accounting, or Financial Control in investment banking.
• Experience in P&L production, Balance Sheet substantiation, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Good understanding of derivatives, securities, and traded financial instruments.
• Knowledge of fair value accounting and valuation methodologies is advantageous.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel is mandatory.
• Knowledge of VBA, SQL, or Python is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and build effective relationships across Finance and Front Office.
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CFA, or FRM (completed or in progress) are assets.

• Prepare and review daily and monthly Product Control accounting and reporting for trading businesses.
• Ensure accurate accounting treatment of trading products, valuation adjustments, accruals, and reserves per IFRS and internal policies.
• Prepare and review P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Analyze and explain P&L movements, Balance Sheet variances, and valuation adjustments.
• Oversee preparation and review of Independent Price Verification (IPV), Fair Value Adjustment (FVA), Prudent Valuation (PVA), and Fair Value Levelling (FVL).
• Support financial close processes at month, quarter, and year-end for Global Markets.
• Collaborate with Financial Control to ensure accurate financial reporting and regulatory disclosures.
• Support implementation of new accounting standards, methodologies, and control improvements.
• Prepare management information and financial analysis for senior management and committees.
• Partner with Front Office, Financial Control, Market Risk, Quantitative Analytics, Finance, Operations, and IT for financial reporting accuracy.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to automate and improve accounting and Product Control processes.
