Senior Data Analyst with Tableau

Transition Technologies MS is hiring a Senior Data Engineer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines, transformations, and APIs that support Finance reporting, analytics, and operational tooling across the organization. The role involves working with a modern cloud-first stack centered around Snowflake, collaborating with data analysts, UX designers, and software engineers.

• 5+ years of data engineering experience with at least 2 years using Snowflake in production
• Strong experience with ETL design, data blending, and complex data transformations
• Proficient in SQL (advanced level) and Python for data engineering
• Experience with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, dbt, or similar
• Solid understanding of cloud data warehouse concepts: partitioning, clustering, materialized views, query optimization, cost governance
• Experience with Finance data domains (general ledger, cost centers, P&L, FP&A) preferred
• Proficiency with GitHub for version control and collaborative code review
• Experience developing and documenting backend REST APIs
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for data workflows

Nice to have:

• Experience with SAP (S/4HANA, BW4) or other ERP source systems
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and metadata tools (e.g. Collibra, DataHub)
• Exposure to Snowflake data sharing and Marketplace features
• Familiarity with dbt for transformation and testing
• Understanding of dimensional modeling
• Experience in regulated industries (pharma, finance, life sciences)

Data Engineering & Architecture:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for Finance data using Snowflake
• Implement data blending strategies across heterogeneous sources including ERP systems
• Use Snowflake-native features like dynamic tables, streams, tasks, materialized views, data sharing, and time travel
• Model data with dimensional and modern approaches such as Data Vault and medallion architecture
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and lineage with testing and monitoring
• Optimize query performance and cost efficiency within Snowflake

Pipelines & Orchestration:

• Build and maintain data pipelines using orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, dbt, or equivalent
• Implement CI/CD using GitHub Actions or similar tools
• Monitor pipeline health, set up alerting, and manage incident resolution

Backend & API Development:

• Design and develop RESTful APIs (e.g. REST, FastAPI) for internal use
• Collaborate with frontend and full-stack developers to define data contracts and ensure backend integration
• Implement authentication, authorization, and data access governance for sensitive Finance data

Cloud & Infrastructure:

• Work in cloud environments such as AWS, applying best practices for security, scalability, and cost
• Contribute to infrastructure-as-code practices (e.g. Terraform or equivalent)
• Promote data security and compliance standards for financial data

Collaboration & Standards:

• Partner with Finance domain experts and analysts to translate data needs into technical solutions
• Contribute to and enforce data engineering standards and documentation
• Mentor junior engineers and serve as a technical reference within the domain
