Mid Software Engineer - Python

Guidewire is a platform trusted by property and casualty insurers globally. The company offers a cloud service platform combining digital, core, analytics, and AI, used by over 540 insurers across 40 countries. The Pricing and Rating Team develops and maintains an insurance pricing platform using a modern tech stack, machine learning libraries, and cloud infrastructures such as AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes, focusing on scalability, performance, and security.

• Minimum 2 years experience in Python development
• Experience with FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Pydantic, Celery
• At least 1 year of TypeScript development experience
• Experience with React hooks and testing-library
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong foundation in algorithmics and data structures
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Ability to deliver production-grade solutions and solve problems at scale
• High responsibility, good work ethic, curiosity, and openness to new ideas

Nice to have:

• Experience with public cloud providers, preferably AWS
• Experience in test automation and quality ownership
• Experience building microservices exposing RESTful APIs in Python
• Experience with Tanstack, react-hook-farm, vite

• Research, develop, and maintain modeling and insurance pricing algorithms and proprietary solutions
• Engage in Fullstack development using TypeScript and Python
• Analyze requirements, propose solutions, and build proofs of concept and production-grade, well-tested solutions
• Support, optimize, and maintain solutions to meet service level objectives
• Cooperate with team members through pull request reviews, RFCs/ADRs, and agile ceremonies
