Senior Data Scientist

While Xebia is a global tech company originating in CEE from PGS Software and GetInData, it is a team of over 1,000 experts delivering cloud, data, and software solutions. They work on projects in fintech, e-commerce, aviation, logistics, media, and fashion for top clients such as McLaren, Aviva, Deloitte, Spotify and others, focusing on scalable platforms, data and AI solutions. Xebia uses modern open-source stacks and partners with Databricks, dbt, Snowflake, Azure, GCP, and AWS.

• Extensive hands-on experience designing, training, and improving Deep Learning models
• Proven expertise in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Strong practical knowledge of Pandas and NumPy
• Advanced SQL skills including analytical SQL in large-scale data environments
• Strong experience with public cloud infrastructure, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and services like Vertex AI and Vertex AI Pipelines
• Ability to write production-level, testable, and documented Python code
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices
• Ability to mentor other Data Scientists
• Relevant academic degree or extensive professional experience in STEM fields
• Willingness to attend onsite workshops (1-3 times per quarter) in Warsaw

Nice to have:

• Experience developing ML models for low-latency online applications
• Experience within advertising or marketing domains
• Experience developing ML models predicting business events like clicks or conversions (e.g., CTR, CVR modelling)
• Proficiency in traditional machine learning techniques such as Gradient Boosted Trees
• Experience in mentoring, technical leadership, or coordinating model development
• Practical use of AI-assisted coding tools to improve engineering productivity and quality

• Design, train, and improve Deep Learning models for business-critical production use cases
• Lead end-to-end model development from problem framing to production handoff
• Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to translate strategic goals into measurable modeling outcomes and technical roadmaps
• Provide technical leadership and quality assurance for Data Science workstreams
• Mentor other Data Scientists and raise modeling standards across the team

Additional responsibilities:

• Drive design, refinement, and evaluation of ML scoring models (e.g., CTR, CVR, RoAS) integral to core bidding logic
• Design architecture of model strategies integrating user, product, and placement signals for high-throughput and low-latency environments

Work from the European Union region with a work permit is required.
