Senior Software Engineer - Backend (Price Integrity & Insight)

Tesco Technology develops global enterprise APIs for secure access to colleague benefits data across multiple payroll systems and countries. The company operates with a DevOps philosophy, emphasizing software lifecycle responsibility, continuous integration, delivery, and support. The role is based in Kraków with hybrid work (60% in-office).

• Around 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer within the JVM ecosystem.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Excellent understanding of the programming language and framework plus knowledge of the abstraction layer underneath.
• Ability to develop technical strategies and lead implementation.
• Minimal need for guidance and ability to collaborate effectively.
• Strong communication skills to engage stakeholders and drive convergence.
• Demonstrated technical leadership.

• Write, review, and contribute code with a focus on performance, availability, reliability, and security.
• Define features for services owned by your team.
• Communicate progress to team members, managers, and wider colleagues.
• Take technical strategy decisions on business problems including design choices (push vs pull, real time vs batch, sync vs async).
• Collaborate with software development engineers across teams.
• Propose and drive process improvements.
• Elaborate requirements when necessary.
• Demonstrate technical leadership and set examples in design, delivery, code, and processes.
