Forward Deployed AI Engineer (Senior / Principal)

They partner with ambitious organizations as trusted technology advisors to design, build, and scale AI-powered products solving real business problems. The role involves working on a long-term US-based AI company project delivering enterprise AI software built with Python on the backend and TypeScript/React on the frontend.

Forward Deployed / Customer-Facing Engineering Experience:

• Experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer or similar customer-facing engineering role.
• Leading customer engagements from discovery through production.
• Working directly with international enterprise customers.
• Leading architecture workshops and technical solution design.
• Translating business challenges into scalable technical solutions.
• Acting as a trusted technical advisor.
• Navigating ambiguity and solving complex customer problems.

Senior Engineering Experience:

• 8+ years professional software engineering experience.
• Delivering complex production systems.
• Strong software architecture and system design skills.
• Designing scalable backend, frontend, APIs, integrations, and cloud solutions.
• Strong ownership and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication of technical decisions.

Startup & High-Growth Environment Experience:

• Experience in startup, scale-up, or high-growth environments.
• Comfortable with fast-changing requirements and priorities.
• Independent ownership and decision-making.
• Building products with undefined requirements.
• Bias toward action and practical solutions.
• Adapting and solving ambiguous problems.

AI Engineering:

• Hands-on building AI-powered products or enterprise AI solutions.
• Experience with modern LLMs and AI APIs.
• Understanding of AI Agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Prompt Engineering, Tool/Function Calling, Structured Outputs, AI Evaluation, Production AI Systems, AI Reliability.

Communication:

• Excellent spoken and written English (C1+).
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to technical and business audiences.
• Comfortable leading customer-facing meetings independently.

Availability:

• Full-time availability.
• Ability to work with at least 80% overlap with New York (Eastern Time) business hours.

Partner with Enterprise Customers:

• Act as a trusted technical advisor for strategic enterprise customers.
• Lead technical discovery workshops, architecture reviews, and solution design sessions.
• Translate business challenges into scalable AI-powered solutions.
• Build trusted relationships with engineering leaders and executive stakeholders.
• Guide customers through technical decision-making and AI adoption.

Lead Complex AI Implementations:

• Design and build production-grade AI-powered applications.
• Deliver custom integrations, AI workflows, and enterprise solutions.
• Solve complex architecture and implementation challenges.
• Integrate AI platforms into existing enterprise environments.
• Deliver solutions with measurable business impact.

Drive Technical Excellence:

• Lead architecture decisions and engineering best practices.
• Mentor customer engineering teams during implementation.
• Review technical designs and implementation strategies.
• Stay hands-on while leading complex technical initiatives.
• Balance engineering excellence with business priorities.

Shape Product Evolution:

• Identify recurring customer challenges and implementation patterns.
• Share customer insights with Product and Engineering teams.
• Transform customer-specific implementations into reusable platform capabilities.
• Influence the future direction of the AI platform.

This role requires full-time availability with at least 80% overlap with New York (Eastern Time) business hours, typically starting work around 1:00–2:00 PM Polish time. The position is limited to remote work from Poland.
