Tech Lead, Platform Reliability Engineering

• Strong software engineering background with comfort in writing production code and system design.
• Experience with Go, Python, Scala, and TypeScript preferred but fundamentals prioritized.
• 8+ years building and operating backend systems at scale.
• Experience leading technical projects and influencing direction across teams.
• Ability to improve others through clarity, feedback, and raising technical standards without formal authority.
• Knowledge of distributed systems patterns such as backpressure, graceful degradation, and capacity planning.
• Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Terraform, and monitoring tools like Datadog.
• Experience working with explicit reliability and performance targets for production systems.
• Clear communication skills and strong collaboration with platform and infrastructure teams.
• Curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies with willingness to learn and apply them.

Important: This is a software engineering role focused on hands-on development, not scripting or operational playbooks.

• Set technical direction for the team to solve the right problems effectively.
• Design and build core platform systems including load shedding, circuit breakers, and rate limiting.
• Own platform concerns such as ingress and egress for traffic flow.
• Define stable interfaces and libraries used by other platform teams.
• Lead end-to-end projects across multiple platform teams.
• Raise technical quality through code reviews, design discussions, and mentorship.
• Partner with infrastructure teams to embed reliability into architecture.
• Debug complex system issues and prevent recurrence.
