Mid Software Engineer - Python

Guidewire is a platform trusted by property and casualty (P&C) insurers worldwide for digital, core, analytics, and AI solutions delivered as cloud services. The company serves over 540 insurers in 40 countries with more than 1600 successful projects and a large R&D team. The Pricing and Rating team builds and maintains an insurance pricing platform using a modern tech stack including machine learning libraries and cloud infrastructure like AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes. The team consists of around 15 engineers working in agile pods on a young product and fresh codebase.

• Minimum 2 years experience in Python development
• Experience with some of: FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Pydantic, Celery
• At least 1 year experience in TypeScript development
• Familiarity with React hooks and testing-library
• Experience delivering production-grade solutions and problem-solving at scale
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong foundation in algorithmics and data structures
• Excellent communication skills in an English-speaking environment
• Team collaboration and openness to occasional in-person meetings

Nice to have:

• Experience with public cloud providers, preferably AWS
• Experience in test automation to ensure quality
• Experience building microservices exposing RESTful APIs in Python
• Familiarity with Tanstack, react-hook-farm, and vite

• Develop and maintain insurance pricing algorithms and proprietary visualizations
• Fullstack development using Python and TypeScript
• Analyze requirements, propose solutions, build proofs of concept and production-grade tested solutions
• Support, optimize, and maintain solutions to meet Service Level Objectives (SLOs)
• Collaborate with team members through pull request reviews, Request for Comments/Architectural Decision Records (RFCs/ADRs), and agile ceremonies
