Full Stack Developer - Sr. Shopify Hydrogen Developer

We are a US-based e-commerce retailer operating multiple storefronts with a custom headless architecture including Shopify Hydrogen (React Router), Algolia for search, Storyblok CMS, and a mature Django monolith for ERP/PIM/CRM.

• 3+ years of experience building custom eCommerce storefronts using Shopify Hydrogen, React, and React Router.
• Experience developing headless commerce solutions and complex frontend functionality.
• Hands-on experience maintaining and extending Python/Django applications.
• Deep understanding of GraphQL APIs, REST integrations, and data synchronization between platforms like Shopify, ERP, CRM, and PIM.
• Proven success migrating legacy applications to modern architectures with minimal disruption.
• Experience with monolithic codebases integrating multiple business systems.
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and cloud-hosted apps.
• Familiarity with Shopify Oxygen, edge platforms, containerized deployments, environment configuration, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Ability to write, debug, and optimize complex Shopify GraphQL APIs queries (Admin and Storefront).
• Ability to self-direct on technical tasks while recognizing when escalation is needed.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Full-time availability (40 hours/week).

Nice to have:

• Experience in "Shopify-but-not-really-Shopify" environments requiring custom implementations.
• Experience migrating Liquid storefronts to Hydrogen.
• Experience managing large product catalogs (100K+ SKUs) and SEO-sensitive migrations.
• Familiarity with feed syndication, search integration (Algolia), or headless CMS (Storyblok) workflows.
• Experience with React Router outside Hydrogen contexts.

Hydrogen & Frontend Development:

• Build and maintain custom Shopify Hydrogen storefronts using React Router.
• Implement responsive UIs with HTML, CSS, and React.
• Manage migrations from legacy frontends to Hydrogen.
• Debug and optimize data flow from React components through GraphQL.

Backend Integration & API Work:

• Extend and maintain Python/Django code for GraphQL API integrations.
• Build custom middleware and integrations for headless stack features.
• Modify data exchange layers and API endpoints as needed.
• Enhance monolithic Django codebase while preserving functionality.

Infrastructure & Deployment:

• Manage software-defined infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines for Hydrogen deployments.
• Configure environments and automate releases to Oxygen or similar platforms.
• Troubleshoot deployment and infrastructure issues.

Translation & Problem-Solving:

• Translate business requests into technical approaches.
• Identify when architectural escalation is needed and communicate with the CTO.
• Communicate technical constraints clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
