Analytical Engineer

• 4+ years experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or related roles with ownership of data models used for decision-making.
• Advanced SQL skills and data modeling fundamentals including dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and semantic layer design.
• Hands-on experience with transformation frameworks (e.g., dbt), orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow), version control (Git), and modern warehouse/lakehouse platforms (preferably Databricks).
• Experience with data quality testing, schema management, data contracts, and query/model performance tuning.
• Domain fluency in business areas such as PLG funnels, marketing attribution, product telemetry, or revenue.
• Strong cross-functional partnership and communication skills.
• Interest in AI-native analytics, including NL2SQL and semantic layers with tools like Claude and Databricks Genie.

Nice to have:

• Exposure to Unity Catalog, Looker/LookML, or reverse-ETL/activation platforms like Salesforce, Marketo, or Gainsight.

• Own and improve the Gold layer data models for specific business domains such as PLG funnel, marketing attribution, or revenue.
• Implement canonical business logic behind core KPIs to resolve data discrepancies.
• Build and curate the semantic layer and Genie spaces for self-serve analytics.
• Maintain a metric dictionary as a single source of truth for metrics.
• Author data contracts and SLAs, manage data quality and on-call duties for Gold/metric-mart failures.
• Build and maintain certified dashboards partnered with Data Science.
• Collaborate with Product & Business, Data Science, and Engineering to translate questions into scalable datasets and improve data model quality.
