Managing Director, Data & AI - Pharma

Founded in 2017, Unit8 is a Swiss AI and data analytics consulting company focused on traditional industries such as automotive, chemical, financial services, manufacturing, and pharma. The company has delivered more than 400 projects and employs over 175 professionals across 7 offices. Unit8 aims to drive AI and Data Science adoption in non-digital industries and dedicates resources to pro-bono and "engineering for good" projects.

• Significant experience in Data & AI consulting for pharma/life sciences
• Proven track record of originating and closing major pharma client deals
• Currently Principal, Associate Partner, Director, or equivalent with commercial track record and client ownership
• Technical understanding of data architecture and AI to enforce delivery quality
• Established senior client relationships network in DACH pharma
• Fluent English; German and/or French are nice to have
• Comfortable with travel including up to 5 weeks on-site engagements in the US

• Build and convert a pipeline of high-value pharma opportunities in DACH using an established network
• Sell from expertise by understanding pharma regulatory, R&D, and commercial challenges
• Stay embedded in delivery to set pace, challenge assumptions, and maintain business focus
• Bridge data scientists/engineers and pharma executives by translating technical and strategic issues
• Raise delivery standards in pharma data & AI and hold teams accountable
• Translate complex pharma business problems into data & AI solutions and ensure client realization of value
• Lead complex tech-enabled transformations across the pharma value chain from problem definition to delivery
• Act as senior point of contact for key pharma clients during delivery
• Challenge clients on scope, pace, and ambition when necessary
• Collaborate closely with engineering and data science teams, providing business context and coaching
