Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer (Freelance)

Mindrift is a platform connecting specialists with innovative technology projects to help develop high-quality AI technologies by combining real-world expertise with advanced AI development. The role is for the Tendem project focused on specialized data scraping workflows for real-world applications.

• At least 5+ years of experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields is a plus.
• Strong technical foundation with scripting, automation, and data extraction workflows.
• Experience in Python web scraping using tools like BeautifulSoup, Selenium, handling dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll), and APIs via proxies.
• Ability to extract data from complex structures including hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML.
• Proficiency in data cleaning, normalization, validation, and delivering structured datasets (CSV, JSON, Google Sheets).
• Experience with anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and containerization (Docker).
• Hands-on experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain and OpenRouter applied to automation.
• Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and self-directed troubleshooting ability.
• English proficiency at Upper-intermediate (B2) or above.

• Leverage available tools and custom workflows to accelerate data collection, validation, and task execution.
• Ensure reliable extraction from dynamic and interactive web sources, adapting to JavaScript-rendered content and site changes.
• Enforce data quality standards through validation checks, cross-source consistency, formatting adherence, and systematic verification.
• Scale scraping operations using efficient batching or parallelization, monitor failures, and maintain stability against site structure changes.
