Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer (Freelance)

Mindrift connects specialists with innovative technology projects and aims to help develop high-quality AI technologies by combining real-world expertise with advanced AI development efforts. The role is for the Tendem project, focusing on specialized data scraping workflows for real-world use cases.

• At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical fields is a plus.
• Strong experience in Python web scraping using tools such as BeautifulSoup, Selenium or similar, including handling dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll) and APIs via proxies.
• Proven ability to extract data from complex structures including hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML.
• Solid skills in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, delivering structured datasets (CSV, JSON, Google Sheets).
• Experience managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure tools such as AWS or equivalent and containerization tools like Docker.
• Hands-on experience with large language model frameworks (e.g., LangChain, OpenRouter) applied to automation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Self-directed with the ability to troubleshoot independently.
• English proficiency at Upper-intermediate (B2) level or above.

• Own end-to-end data extraction workflows across complex websites to ensure complete coverage, accuracy, and reliable delivery of structured datasets.
• Utilize available tools and custom workflows to accelerate data collection, validation, and task execution according to requirements.
• Adapt scraping methods to handle dynamic and JavaScript-rendered content and changing site behaviors.
• Enforce data quality standards through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, and adherence to formatting specifications.
• Scale scraping operations using batching or parallelization while monitoring failures and maintaining stability against site changes.
