Senior Cloud Engineer

Remitly Poland is a financial services company focused on global money transfers, serving millions of customers worldwide. The Cloud Team is responsible for designing, building, and operating Remitly's AWS cloud foundation, including networking fabric and infrastructure tooling at significant scale.

• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure with significant hands-on experience on AWS.
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language; experience with Golang is strongly preferred.
• Deep knowledge of cloud networking: VPC design and subnetting, routing, Transit Gateway, DNS, load balancing.
• Experience with edge infrastructure management: CloudFront distributions, AWS Shield, WAF configurations, CDN failover strategies.
• Experience building and operating infrastructure as code, preferably with Terraform.
• Understanding of cloud and infrastructure management concepts including multi-account governance and organizational tooling.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes/EKS is a plus.

• Lead architecture decisions on cloud topology, multi-account governance, cross-region connectivity, and platform abstractions used by every engineering team.
• Own and evolve edge infrastructure including CloudFront distributions, AWS Shield, WAF configurations, CDN failover strategies, and latency-optimized routing.
• Build and maintain production Go services and CLI tooling that automate, observe, and extend the cloud platform at scale.
• Design and operate global partner and bank connectivity networks including VPNs (IPSec/IKEv2), Direct Connect, BGP routing to financial partners, and multi-account, multi-region topology.
• Collaborate with SRE, Security, and Platform teams to embed observability, compliance, and operational excellence.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues across distributed cloud environments using deep knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and traffic flow analysis.
• Participate in on-call rotation (5-person weekly rotation) with occasional late syncs with Seattle (4–6 PM CET).

Work location hybrid with an expectation to be in-office at least 50% monthly (typically 3 days a week). Remitly Poland applies increased tax deductible costs (KUP) for qualifying employees involved in software creation as "authors" regarding copyright transfer under Personal Income Tax Act.
