Software Architect

Vercom builds global communication platforms in the cloud (CPaaS) serving millions of users daily. The company is launching a new standalone cybersecurity platform built as AI-native from the first line of code, with AI agents integral to the product core. The platform aims to be modular and extensible with additional services, making current architectural decisions critical for years ahead.

• Minimum 6 years backend programming experience in object-oriented languages
• At least 1-2 years in a role with real architectural decision responsibility
• Experience designing SaaS and cloud-native solutions from scratch, with insights on what worked and required rework
• Comfort working in early-stage projects with incomplete data for decisions
• Practical understanding of multi-tenancy: data isolation, permission models, client usage accounting
• Ability to design modular systems with API-first approach, clear contracts, and event-driven architecture
• Conscious trade-offs regarding costs and performance, especially in AI layers with token usage as a direct product cost
• Experience working with AI integral to development workflow: code generation, refactoring, analysis, automation
• Practical use of LLM including prompt engineering, function calling, structured outputs, and workflow building
• Product-oriented mindset, translating business problems into technical solutions and knowing what not to build
• Preference for autonomy, responsibility, and comfort with unresolved issues

Nice to have:

• Experience in cybersecurity product, audit, or offensive roles
• Familiarity with agent-based approaches: agent orchestration, MCP, A2A, ACP, LLM workflows
• Experience with continuous data processing systems (scanning, monitoring, queues, event processing)
• Knowledge of CI/CD, infrastructure as code, DevSecOps practices, AWS
• Experience building early-phase products in small startup-like teams and fast pace

• Design target platform architecture including technology stack, module division, data models, service boundaries, and multi-tenancy decisions
• Build the core architecture to enable rapid development of additional modules without fundamental rewrites
• Deliver the first production module including both architecture and code
• Design AI layer with agent orchestration, token cost control, and predictable, repeatable results
• Develop integrations with external systems and data sources
• Document architectural decisions to support comprehension and challenge from the growing team
• Participate in building the technical team and setting AI development standards
