Databricks Architect

The Big Data & Analytics Center of Excellence is a data consulting and data engineering branch at SoftServe with hundreds of Data Engineers and Architects designing and delivering end-to-end Data & Analytics solutions. The team works with clients across Healthcare, Finance, Manufacturing, Retail, and Energy industries and holds top-level partnerships with major cloud providers.

• Experienced Big Data Architect with hands-on expertise in building large-scale data platforms, migrations, and decision-support systems
• Skilled in designing and implementing modern data architectures including DWH, lakehouses, streaming, real-time, and event-driven processing
• Strong experience with the Azure data ecosystem including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, Cosmos, Azure SQL, Databricks, Azure Stream Analytics
• Proficient in SQL and Python (including PySpark) for designing and optimizing data solutions
• Experience translating business requirements into scalable architecture and implementation roadmaps
• Comfortable as a customer-facing consultant presenting architecture decisions and leading technical discussions
• Proven leadership and mentoring skills for data engineering teams, providing technical direction and ensuring best practices
• Knowledgeable about data governance, security, and data management frameworks on modern platforms
• Experienced in streaming and real-time processing with tools such as Kafka, Event Hub, Spark Structured Streaming
• Strong understanding of SDLC and software engineering best practices including CI/CD, version control, and testing applied to data platforms
• Proficient in pre-sales activities including discovery, solution shaping, and high-level estimations
• Fluent in English with excellent communication and presentation skills in multicultural environments

• Design and deliver end-to-end data architectures on Azure for enterprise-scale data platforms
• Translate business needs into scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions
• Lead architecture design and decision-making, defining standards, patterns, and best practices
• Collaborate with stakeholders to drive requirements gathering, data modeling, and solution design
• Support and guide engineering teams in implementing data pipelines and platform components
• Contribute to pre-sales activities, including workshops, solution envisioning, and proposal creation
• Build and evolve data platforms including ingestion, transformation, storage, and serving layers
• Ensure data governance, quality, and security standards across the platform
• Participate in the full project lifecycle from PoC to full-scale implementation
• Explore new technologies, build prototypes, and contribute to the Big Data community
