Senior AI Engineer (Generative AI / LLM Systems)

Cerebre builds software that helps industrial companies understand and operate complex facilities through an AI-native platform called PlantGraph, which models equipment, instrumentation, and processes using an ontology-driven knowledge graph. The company integrates advanced AI capabilities including LLMs, RAG, and AI agents to enable natural language interaction and graph-aware reasoning over engineering systems and workflows.

• 5+ years in software engineering, ML engineering, or applied AI.
• Experience building AI systems that combine structured data with LLMs.
• Strong experience with RAG, embeddings, and retrieval systems.
• Proven experience building production AI systems beyond prototypes.
• Strong Python and backend engineering skills.
• Experience designing scalable APIs and services.
• Ability to take ownership of complex, ambiguous problems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with LLM agents or tool-based AI systems interacting with external systems via APIs or tools, including standards such as MCP.
• Knowledge graph or graph database experience.
• Exposure to industrial systems, P&IDs, or engineering workflows.
• Experience with PyTorch/TensorFlow and distributed systems or cloud infrastructure.

• Build AI systems that interpret and reason over PlantGraph and its underlying ontology combining graph queries, ontology structures, and engineering data.
• Create natural language interfaces allowing users to explore facility systems, navigate diagrams, and query equipment and process relationships.
• Develop systems combining graph queries, engineering documentation (P&IDs, procedures, LOTO, work orders), and real-world operational context.
• Design APIs and tools that enable AI agents to interact safely and reliably with the platform.
• Productionize AI systems with scalable APIs, performance optimization, evaluation, monitoring, and reliability frameworks.
• Collaborate across engineering, ML, and domain teams to identify and solve complex problems including data, ontology, and system design gaps.
