Senior Java Engineer (Trading Systems)

VISTULO offers a fully remote role for a top North American bank, focused on developing ultra-low-latency trading systems including equities, options, and FX. The team consists of engineers who originally built the system and it involves direct collaboration with traders and product teams across North America and Europe.

• Current Java programming experience with strong understanding of algorithms, complexity, multi-threading, language capabilities, and standard libraries.
• Good knowledge of data structures and familiarity with the Java collections framework.
• Proven experience building backend services for front-office trading systems.
• Deep understanding of front-office workflows and electronic trading platforms.
• Experience with algorithmic order management or order routing systems.
• Expertise in multi-threading, event-driven systems, and performance tuning.
• Ability to create maintainable, high-quality solutions from complex workflows.
• Strong communication skills for high-stakes, trader-facing environments.
• Knowledge of building low-latency (microseconds scale) trading systems.
• Ability to align work schedule with a 6-hour overlap with US Eastern business hours.

Nice to have:

• Exposure to time-series databases and market data integration.
• Familiarity with algorithmic workflows and pricing engines.
• A computer science degree from a top Polish school.

• Design and implement robust software solutions for equities and FX trading systems using core Java.
• Build high-performance backend services that algorithmically manage and route orders.
• Create thorough test cases to ensure software stability and reliability.
• Collaborate with operations teams to build new features and improve existing functionality.

This role is fully remote but only open to residents of Poland, including Polish citizens and legal residents with permission to work in Poland. Successful candidates must pass a standard background check.
