AI and Systems Integrations Lead

SBC (Sports Betting Community Limited) is a global company operating in the Gaming and Entertainment industry, focusing on events, media, tech, and entertainment. Founded in 2009, SBC organizes major industry events worldwide and provides media, insights, and a digital ecosystem including a proprietary event app, SBC Connect, developed by its in-house tech team. The company operates a Poland-based software development team working closely with global product management to maintain over 30 systems supporting its business.

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience in backend development, systems architecture, or integration engineering.
• Strong hands-on coding skills in modern backend languages for integration and AI.
• Deep understanding of web services, MCP servers, API contracts (REST, GraphQL), webhooks, and event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic), including secure integration into business processes.
• Experience designing resilient data flows with error handling, retry logic, idempotency, and observability.
• Ability to work independently as a technical lead and debug complex production data flow issues.
• Excellent English proficiency (B2/C1) for collaboration with UK/US teams.

Own cross-system integrations:

• Act as the process owner and lead technical practitioner for systems integration, defining connection identities, contracts, data flow rules, and integration patterns uniformly.
• Maintain an integration map of every system-to-system connection in operation, including automated, manual, scheduled, and ad-hoc connections.
• Diagnose the status of each connection, including failures, business impact, and criticality.
• Define and maintain integration standards such as API contracts, event schemas, error handling, retry and idempotency rules, and data flow observability.
• Set architectural direction for integrations, choosing between direct connections and centralized tooling.
• Specify integration requirements for new systems before contracts are signed.

Deliver integration and AI work:

• Build integrations and AI features hands-on, including writing production code, designing APIs, data transformations, writing tests, and deploying features.
• Lead delivery of integration and AI initiatives end-to-end from design to post-rollout monitoring.
• Manage projects through the Projects Office for visibility and capacity coordination.
• Execute initiatives either directly, collaboratively, or by overseeing development teams.
• Operate integration layers and AI features in production, including monitoring, debugging, incident response, and backlog improvements.
• Coordinate with system owners across the business on integration and AI changes.
• Propagate AI knowledge and implementation practices within the Development Department.

Contribute to the preparation pipeline:

• Participate in shaping initiatives involving integration or AI, including risk identification and testing.
• Provide technical input for high-level specifications with product managers and stakeholders.
• Translate business intents on cross-system and AI-augmented workflows into development requirements.
