Senior Azure DevOps / Legacy Migration Engineer

P&P Solutions is recruiting for a Senior Azure DevOps / Legacy Migration Engineer to work remotely on a project focused on modernizing environments and decommissioning legacy systems including Coda and PIMS running on unsupported versions of Windows Server and SQL Server.

• Strong knowledge of SQL Server 2012 and legacy SQL Server environments
• Experience migrating databases to Azure SQL, Azure SQL Managed Instance, or newer SQL Server versions
• Practical knowledge of database dependency analysis
• Experience with SQL tracing, profiling, and performance analysis
• Familiarity with Windows Server 2012/2016
• Experience with decommissioning or modernizing legacy systems
• Practical knowledge of Azure services including Azure SQL, Azure DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, networking, Key Vault, RBAC, and monitoring

Nice to have:

• Experience with Apache and IIS
• Experience troubleshooting application layer issues in legacy systems

• Analyze existing SQL Server environments and their dependencies
• Migrate databases to Azure SQL, Azure SQL Managed Instance, or newer SQL Server versions
• Analyze jobs, stored procedures, views, linked servers, permissions, and logins
• Perform SQL tracing, profiling, and query workload analysis
• Execute backups, restores, imports/exports, and validate data integrity
• Build and automate environments in Azure using Azure DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD pipelines
• Participate in controlled decommissioning of legacy systems
• Collaborate with the architecture and migration team for the target platform
