Senior Fullstack Mobile Engineer

Fundraise Up is a global fundraising platform that powers millions of dollars in donations worldwide each month. The platform serves nonprofits, donors, and partners with a large and complex product ecosystem including modern checkout experiences, customizable widgets, portals, admin tools, and internal apps. The backend is powered by Node.js (Koa, NestJS) and MongoDB, with a frontend stack using Webpack, Vue.js, React, and TypeScript. The company operates across multiple countries with a distributed team of 160+ product professionals including 80+ engineers.

• 8+ years professional software development experience including 3+ years with React Native.
• Proficiency in React Native and TypeScript.
• Strong JavaScript fundamentals including asynchronous programming and error handling.
• Working knowledge of relational and document databases.
• Understanding of RESTful API design and HTTP fundamentals.
• Familiarity with native iOS and Android platforms and tooling (Xcode, Android Studio, Gradle).
• Understanding of mobile OS fundamentals including app lifecycle and permissions.
• Experience with automated testing (unit, integration, E2E).
• Knowledge of mobile security including secure storage and handling of sensitive payment data.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools.
• Ability to diagnose React Native production issues.
• Experience owning mobile initiatives end-to-end including backend and frontend changes.
• Experience designing mobile application architecture and integrating native modules with Swift/Kotlin.
• Experience managing app signing, store submission, and staged rollouts.
• Experience establishing mobile engineering practices including CI/CD.
• Experience with asynchronous backend interactions (messaging, queues).
• Experience with mobile production operations such as monitoring and incident response.
• Ability to mentor and develop engineers.
• English proficiency sufficient for daily communication.

• Broader backend and database experience.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and asynchronous messaging.
• Experience with high-traffic, low-latency systems.
• Experience with offline-first architectures and unreliable network data synchronization.
• Familiarity with React Native's New Architecture (JSI, Fabric, TurboModules, Codegen).
• Native development depth in Swift and/or Kotlin.
• Experience with in-person or mobile payments and fintech products.
• Experience with Stripe Terminal, Tap to Pay, or NFC.
• Experience in distributed, remote-first engineering organizations.

• Implement features, fix bugs, and resolve production incidents across iOS, Android, backend, and web frontend.
• Own mobile initiatives end-to-end including requirements gathering, design, implementation, and delivery.
• Act as the primary technical escalation point for complex mobile issues.
• Review code and designs for correctness including component and navigation structure and native integration.
• Contribute to and evolve mobile engineering standards such as component architecture, testing, and release policies.
• Monitor operational health including releases and staged rollouts, and respond to issues post-release.
