Infrastructure Software Engineer, Metadata Services

Dropbox is hiring an Infrastructure Engineer to build and enhance scalable systems supporting their flagship products and future engineering innovations.

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent technical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience building and managing large-scale, multi-threaded, geographically distributed backend systems.
• Proficiency in programming and debugging in languages such as Python, Go, C/C++, or Java.
• Familiarity with operating system internals, filesystems, databases, networks, and compilers.
• Ability to work independently on tasks.

• Build infrastructure for managing metadata of hundreds of billions of files and handling hundreds of petabytes of user data with millions of concurrent connections.
• Expand Dropbox's role as the data-fabric connecting hundreds of millions of applications, devices, and services worldwide.
• Measure and optimize Dropbox's advanced analytics platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance performance, reliability, and security of infrastructure.
• Participate in on-call rotations to address operational issues and maintain service stability.
