Business Analyst (m/f/n)

Project for a European Union institution based in Brussels focusing on the eExperts platform re-engineering, development, evolutionary maintenance, and support including ECS Back Office, Compass workflows, ECS Front Office, MyExpertArea components, and integration with the Funding & Tenders Portal.

• University degree
• Minimum 5 years of ICT experience
• Minimum 3 years in a similar business analyst role
• Experience in requirements engineering, elicitation, specification, verification, validation, and prioritization
• Experience in requirements analysis and modelling according to BABOK and IEEE 29148 standards including User Stories, Use Cases, Acceptance Criteria, State Diagrams, Class Diagrams, Entity-Relationship Models
• Experience with process modelling techniques including BPMN and flowcharts
• Knowledge of IT modelling methodologies such as UML
• Proven experience in stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, consensus building
• Experience with complex web applications, back-office systems, workflows, and integrated applications
• Knowledge of software development methodologies including Agile, PM² Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Waterfall, RUP, ITIL
• Knowledge of product management practices such as roadmapping, backlog management, outcome-based planning
• Experience using Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, GitLab for tracking user stories, epics, backlogs
• Experience with modelling and wireframing tools including Enterprise Architect, Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, Axure, Balsamiq, Pencil, Figma
• Experience with data management and analytics tools such as SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Excel
• Experience with system integrations including automated API integrations and manual data imports
• Knowledge of project and portfolio management tools like Jira Align and Microsoft Project
• Understanding of testing and validation including Test Scenario Definition, Test Case Design and Execution, Acceptance Testing, Regression Testing, Requirements Traceability, Defect Management
• Experience coordinating UAT, production sanity checks, pilot deployments, proximity support, post-release validation
• Support UX/UI activities through user journeys, wireframes, prototyping
• Understanding of administrative and financial business processes in large organizations
• Knowledge of enterprise IT environments, information systems architecture, application lifecycle management
• Understanding of data governance and data quality standards
• Knowledge of compliance requirements including GDPR, eIDAS, Financial compliance
• Advantage: Awareness of Horizon Europe evaluator activities and expert call procedures

• Perform business analysis for expert contracting workflows including Contract Termination and Early Closure, Conflict of Interest, Point of Departure
• Support redesign of business functionalities within ECS Front Office, ECS Back Office, and Compass workflows due to new Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF)
• Analyze and specify requirements for ECS Back Office, Compass workflows, ECS Front Office, and MyExpertArea components
• Support integration initiatives with the Funding & Tenders Portal
• Contribute to requirements gathering and analysis related to integrations with SEP, Sygma, PMON, SUMMA, ERIS/ARES, Secunda, IAM, eGDR, and EXPAIR
• Prepare functional specifications, feature descriptions, story cards, and acceptance criteria
• Create and maintain user stories, epics, and backlogs in Jira
• Conduct impact analysis and dependency assessments for change requests and enhancements including integration mapping updates
• Support solution design activities translating business requirements into specifications
• Support feasibility assessments evaluating Business Impact, Technical Impact, Effort, Complexity, Risks, Dependencies
• Assist preparation of Risk Matrices, Stakeholder Matrices, Cost Calculations, Technical and Architectural Models
• Support UAT, validation, regression testing, and defect management
• Provide support during pilot deployments and post-release validation
• Participate in PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives
• Support backlog and requirements refinement sessions
• Facilitate stakeholder alignment and communication between business and IT teams
• Support sprint demonstrations and validation of functionalities
• Monitor and report progress at team and product level
• Maintain functional documentation in Confluence and SharePoint
• Support knowledge transfer to business and support teams
