Global Head of Security / CISO

Base.com is a global technology platform empowering entrepreneurs in the e-commerce sector, providing an all-in-one solution integrated with major players such as Amazon, eBay, Shopify, DHL, and FedEx. The company operates internationally with a team spanning Europe to the Americas, managing millions of e-commerce transactions across diverse international markets.

• Senior security leadership experience in SaaS, e-commerce, marketplace, or cloud-native technology companies.
• Proven experience owning and maturing an established security program.
• Experience leading and mentoring security professionals.
• Broad knowledge of product security, cloud, IAM, secure software development, security operations, and incident response.
• Vendor-agnostic experience with modern security technologies and ability to evolve the security stack.
• Practical experience with ISO/IEC 27001, risk management, customer assurance, and SOC 2 readiness.
• Understanding of AI security, AI-assisted development, and security automation.
• Strong business judgement and ability to work with executives, engineers, customers, and auditors.
• Fluent in Polish and English.

• Own and evolve Base’s security strategy, roadmap, governance, and operating model.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the security team, ensuring clear priorities and accountability.
• Preserve effective existing capabilities while addressing security and compliance gaps.
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to strengthen product, API, cloud, identity, software supply-chain, and AI security.
• Provide strategic oversight of the SOC, major incidents, and cyber-resilience capabilities.
• Maintain and improve the ISO/IEC 27001-certified ISMS and lead SOC 2 readiness and attestation efforts.
• Enable secure use of AI in products, development, code review, automation, and security operations.
• Translate security risks into business decisions, priorities, and investments.
• Represent Base in executive discussions, customer reviews, audits, and due-diligence processes.
