Shimi Sp. z o.o. supports NATO's NCIA CSU Bydgoszcz Service Management Branch (SMB) in Configuration and Change Management activities related to NATO exercises and operational CIS services.

Wymagania

  • Proven hands-on experience in Configuration Management, Change Management, Asset Management, or similar IT support/coordination roles.
  • Practical experience updating and maintaining CMDB records and handling change or incident tickets in tools such as ITSM or JIRA.
  • Knowledge of baselines, CI relationships, change lifecycle, and approvals.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices.
  • Ability to track multiple tasks, coordinate with teams, and work in structured environments.
  • Understanding of infrastructure documentation.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Good working knowledge of licensing models (e.g. VMware, Microsoft, Linux).
  • Understanding of common software types including operating systems and client/server applications.
  • Ability to maintain license records and identify inconsistencies.
  • Familiarity with CIS environments.
  • Basic understanding of IT infrastructure including networks, servers, and end-user systems.
  • Ability to produce clear and structured documentation.
  • Comfortable following processes, governance frameworks, and tool guidelines with auditable recording.
  • English proficiency at STANAG 6001 Level 3 or CEFR B2/C1 equivalent.
  • Active NATO SECRET security clearance required.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in NATO or NCIA environments.
  • Additional knowledge of ITIL practices.
  • Experience supporting Configuration and Change Management during exercises or large-scale IT operations.

Obowiązki

CMDB Data Quality and Updates:

  • Maintain accurate records of all Configuration Items (CIs), including workstations, laptops, network connections, and software used during exercises.
  • Regularly update the CMDB to reflect the real operational environment.
  • Add, modify, and remove configuration items as needed.

Asset and Equipment Tracking for Exercises:

  • Maintain overview of CIS equipment used during exercises, including assignment, location, and status.
  • Support preparation, deployment, and return phases of exercise-related equipment.

Change Implementation, Coordination and Reporting:

  • Support coordination of planned changes by organizing schedules and confirming readiness with stakeholders.
  • Maintain the change register tool (ITSM) by logging, categorizing, and updating Requests for Change (RFCs).
  • Ensure proper classification of changes (standard, normal, emergency).

Pre-Exercise and Post-Exercise Configuration Verification and Updates:

  • Support validation of systems before exercises, checking configurations, versions, and connections.
  • Work with engineers to identify missing components or inconsistencies.
  • Ensure temporary changes and workarounds are reverted or documented after exercises.
  • Update CMDB and asset records accordingly.

Software and License Tracking:

  • Maintain updated overview of installed software and licenses.
  • Record software versions, license types, allocations, and expiry.
  • Support identification of missing, unused, or non-compliant licenses.

Configuration Control and Service Impact:

  • Verify deployed CIS assets match recorded configurations and approved baselines.
  • Assist in identifying and communicating service impact of planned changes.

Documentation of Changes and Activities:

  • Maintain clear records of changes including what was changed, when, and why.
  • Ensure tickets, CMDB, and documents are understandable and usable.
  • Provide data and reports on configuration and change activities.

Patch Manager Cable Plant Documentation Updates:

  • Maintain physical connectivity documentation for copper and fibre infrastructure.
  • Update Patch Manager records ensuring accurate and traceable connectivity documentation.
