Senior Software Engineer - Local Server Systems

Kontakt.io is a company developing safety-critical solutions involving devices such as tags and gateways that connect to cloud systems. The role focuses on Local Server software that runs on-site to keep these systems operational independently of cloud connectivity, particularly for hospital environments.

• Senior-level experience, ideally full-stack, with hands-on experience deploying and managing services in remote containers.
• Proficiency in Python or Java, with a preference for Python.
• Working knowledge of both containers and virtual machines (VMs).
• Strong documentation skills.
• Ability to operate with limited visibility and control over deployment environments.

Nice to have:

• Hardware exposure, including hobbyist experience.
• Background in companies with embedded or on-premises deployment patterns.
• Basic Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and networking experience.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services.

• Build the Local Server software to replicate necessary cloud logic locally.
• Package the software as containers or virtual machines as required.
• Implement strong self-reporting features including logs and health metrics for remote diagnostics.
• Write clear and detailed documentation for hospital IT teams to install and operate the software.
• Coordinate with the cloud-side engineering team to keep feature parity between online and offline functionalities.
