Expert Engineer - Senior developer

The role is within the STP tribe, which ensures seamless processing of data, files, and messages end-to-end in a regulated financial environment.

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 5+ years building mission-critical or high-throughput distributed systems preferably in financial services or similarly regulated domains.
• Expert in .NET, C#, async/await, dependency injection, and testing frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Azure including AKS, Functions, Service Bus, Event Hubs, Storage, Key Vault, Application Insights, and Azure DevOps (Pipelines, Repos).
• Experience with containers and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes (preferably AKS), and Helm.
• Understanding of event-driven architecture fundamentals including pub/sub, event streaming, and consumer groups.
• Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automation mindset; experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of resilience engineering concepts such as timeouts, retries, circuit breaker, backpressure, outbox/inbox, DLQ, bulkhead, and sagas.
• Ability to work autonomously.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Kafka (self-managed or cloud), Azure Event Hubs, or Service Bus at scale; schema registries.
• Observability stack including OpenTelemetry, Splunk, distributed tracing; experience with performance and load testing at message/file-transfer scale.
• Knowledge of secure file exchange and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience with Dapr, KEDA, gRPC, and API gateways.
• Familiarity with financial messaging standards and non-functional controls (availability, integrity, confidentiality).

• Design and deliver modern integration services replacing or upgrading the communications layer for message and file ingestion, transformation, routing, and delivery using synchronous and asynchronous models.
• Design for resilience and scale using patterns such as circuit breaker, retries with backoff, timeouts, idempotency, outbox/inbox, DLQs, bulkheads, and compensating transactions/sagas.
• Build event-driven systems leveraging Azure messaging (Service Bus/Event Hubs) and/or Kafka-style pub/sub, defining contracts, schemas, and versioning for backward compatibility.
• Develop high-quality .NET services including C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, worker services, and gRPC/REST with Test-Driven Development (TDD) emphasizing code quality, security, and performance.
• Containerize and operate workloads on Kubernetes (OpenShift/AKS) using Helm and Git-based pipelines (Azure DevOps), enforcing enterprise container standards including image hardening, secrets management, TLS, and Kubernetes network policies.
• Own observability including structured logging, tracing, and metrics using tools such as Application Insights, Splunk, and OpenTelemetry.
• Collaborate in an Agile product setup, participating in backlog refinement, Definition of Ready/Done, iterative delivery, and cross-tribe ceremonies.
• Lead and mentor junior developers, unblock team members, and champion engineering best practices across the squad and Communities of Practice.

Ways of working:

• Work in a tribe/squad setup with Product Owner, Scrum Master, and Solution Architect aligned to quarterly objectives.
• Participate in tribe ceremonies including planning, SoS, release boards, and cross-tribe syncs.
• Collaborate closely with platform teams to ensure container, security, and networking standards compliance.
