Lead Solutions Architect - CREST New Technology

Euroclear connects over 2,000 financial institutions globally, providing infrastructure to support capital markets and financial transaction stability. The role involves working within the Group Business Solutions (GBS) division, which delivers IT solutions for financial securities markets and supports production environments. The current CREST system runs on HP NonStop Servers with communications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Euroclear is migrating CREST from COBOL on HPE NonStop Guardian to a commodity platform like Linux using Java, OpenShift, Kafka, and databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.

• Demonstrable solutions architecture skills and validated strong systems development experience covering all SDLC stages
• Strong experience implementing event hub technologies such as Kafka and modern architectures like service-oriented and microservices architectures
• Experience leading platform-independent and database-independent application implementations
• Experience working within Financial Market Infrastructure or regulated environments
• Strong analytical and systems architecture/design skills
• Database design skills with technologies such as Oracle and SQL Server
• Experience with commodity platforms including OpenShift and containerization
• Hands-on Object Oriented Design and Java programming skills

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of messaging standards: ISO 15022, ISO 20022, and JSON
• Experience with Agile development
• Experience with IBM MQ
• Experience with Angular framework
• Prior experience with HPE NonStop
• Knowledge of CREST settlement systems

• Define options and provide recommendations for migration to new event-driven and service-focused architecture
• Deliver coherent end-to-end IT solutions meeting functional and non-functional requirements
• Ensure alignment with Enterprise engineering and architecture standards
• Organize solution walkthroughs with delivery teams to ensure consistency
• Collaborate with security teams to meet security standards
• Establish infrastructure requirements and work with infrastructure teams on technical and infrastructure design
• Develop guidelines, patterns, and standards for solutions architecture and design
• Create prototypes and proofs of concept for proposed architecture components
• Estimate phases of the migration program and proof-of-concept exercises
• Lead implementation of prototypes and subsequent work
• Present architecture and plans to management, customers, and team members
• Act as technical authority for solutions under the new technical stack
