Java Backend Engineer & Systems Analyst

We are seeking a Senior Java Backend Engineer for one of our key clients, a premier global financial technology leader.

• Java & Spring Framework Expertise: Minimum 5 years of practical backend engineering experience focused on Java and the Spring ecosystem in microservices environments.
• Analytical & Investigative Mindset: Proven capability to dissect, trace, and comprehend unfamiliar, legacy, or multi-layered codebases independently.
• Communication & Stakeholder Skills: Excellent fluent English (written and spoken) with the ability to bridge communication between technical peers and business partners.
• Adaptability & AI Curiosity: Openness to stepping outside traditional workflows and comfortably utilizing AI-assisted development tools.

Nice to have:

• Prior experience in the Banking/Financial domain.
• Working knowledge of modern front-end frameworks (particularly Angular).

• Deep Codebase & System Analysis: Spend the majority of your time (~90%) conducting deep-dive analysis of complex Java microservices, mapping logic dependencies, and understanding backend system behaviors.
• Cross-Domain Data Alignment: Collaborate closely with Data Warehouse (DWH) engineering units to align backend events, analytical pipelines, and data architectures.
• AI-First Tooling Integration: Utilize AI-driven IDEs and modern developer tools to accelerate code comprehension, analysis, and logic documentation.
• International Collaboration: Actively engage in daily technical exchanges with distributed engineering and business stakeholders across Poland, Germany, the UK, and India.
• Community & Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to a collaborative team culture by helping colleagues, handling ad-hoc technical inquiries, and translating complex technical concepts into clear business insights.
