Senior Frontend Engineer (Full-stack)

Soda builds a Data & AI performance monitoring platform for data quality monitoring and automated decision-making. Their open-source engine, Soda Core, is used by customers including Disney, Ralph Lauren, CBRE, HelloFresh, 2K Games, and Nubank, as well as companies like Tesla, Slack, Adyen, Walmart, and JPMC. • 5+ years building frontend for real, complex single-page applications with real users.
• Expert in TypeScript and deep experience with a modern framework; Angular preferred, strong React/Vue engineers willing to use Angular also considered.
• Proficient in frontend craftsmanship: component architecture, state management, rendering performance, responsive design, and attention to detail.
• Habitual in writing tests, including e2e with Cypress or Playwright.
• Capable of reading/modifying Java backend services, designing APIs from a consumer perspective, and competent in SQL.
• Understands system-level API design impacting UI latency and data flow.
• Experience shipping production code using AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) and directing them effectively.
• Independent working style suitable for a distributed team across multiple countries.
• Fluent in English.

Good to Have:

• Experience with data-heavy or developer-tool UIs focusing on visualization, monitoring, or analytics.
• Experience owning design systems or component libraries.
• Background in multi-tenant SaaS or high-growth startups.
• Familiarity with Python for data engineering.
• Experience building agentic LLM-powered workflows.
• Industry experience in data quality, data management, data observability, or ML monitoring.

• Own complex, data-dense UIs, including dashboards, monitoring views, tables, diffs, and drill-downs.
• Drive component architecture, state management, and frontend performance.
• Build with a component library and Storybook; maintain design system coherence.
• Write tests at all layers, maintaining the Cypress end-to-end test suite.
• Build frontend interfaces for agentic features powered by large language models.
• Improve systems for agentic development on the frontend, including conventions and test coverage.
• Shape the APIs consumed and implement backend changes in Java as required.
• Mentor backend-focused engineers on frontend development for full-stack feature delivery.
• Collaborate directly with product, design, and customers to prioritize and decide development work.
