Azure Data Engineer

• 8-10 years of hands-on experience in data engineering with the ability to translate working solutions into implementable packages using the Azure platform.
• High proficiency in designing and developing data analytics and data warehouse solutions with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure SQL/Postgres, and related Azure analytics services.
• Experience in large data distribution, integration with service-oriented architecture, data mesh, data lake, and analytics solutions using Azure data services.
• Proficient coding experience using Spark (Python/Scala) and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with scripting languages such as Linux or PowerShell.
• Prior ETL development experience with tools like Informatica, SSIS, or Talend; knowledge of Kafka streaming in Azure infrastructure is a plus.
• Experience in cloud environments, preferably MS Azure, within an agile SDLC, leveraging modern programming languages, DevOps, and test-driven development.
• Exposure to Docker and Git.
• Hands-on experience with pipeline orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, with preference for Airflow over others like Autosys or Control-M.
• Proficient working with large codebases using GitLab/Github, Fork/Pull Model, and CI/CD.
• Knowledge of DevOps tools such as GitLab CI/CD, YAML, Terraform, ARM, Puppet; familiarity with Azure function app and logic app is a plus.
• Experience in Agile methodologies including SCRUM, XP, Kanban, working within agile SDLC environments.
• Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Excellent English communication skills, both in presentations and technical writing.

• Design, develop, and improve digital products and technology services.
• Apply software engineering practices including user needs analysis, new feature development, automated testing, and deployment.
• Ensure quality, security, reliability, and compliance of solutions by applying digital principles and requirements.
• Build observability into solutions to monitor production health and assist in incident resolution.
• Continuously up-skill and learn new technologies, reuse strategic platforms, and evaluate options for long-term sustainability.
