Engineering Manager – Cloud, AI, and Enterprise

SimCorp is a leading provider of integrated investment management solutions and an independent subsidiary of the Deutsche Börse Group. The company has over 3,000 employees with diverse backgrounds and recently merged with Axioma to offer a full front-to-back solution for clients in investment and asset management. The role is within the Corporate Actions Product Area, part of Investment Operations, focusing on automating corporate action events processing for major investment managers.

• Deep software engineering expertise with ability to design and evolve complex systems.
• 4+ years experience leading software engineers.
• Strong foundation in software engineering coaching on architecture, system design, quality engineering, AI-assisted development, observability, performance, and operational excellence.
• Ability to foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
• Experience with the .NET ecosystem (C#, .NET Core, .NET 6+, ASP.NET Core, Web APIs) for scalable, enterprise-grade applications.
• Understanding of web application architecture including RESTful services, microservices, modular monolith patterns, and event-driven systems.
• Knowledge of modern UI frameworks such as Angular (preferred), React, or similar.
• Familiarity with cloud-native design principles, CI/CD pipelines, observability, resilience, and scalability.
• Practices secure coding, performance optimization, and distributed system design.
• Familiarity with data storage technologies like SQL Server, NoSQL, and caching strategies.
• Understanding of AI-assisted software development and modern engineering productivity tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot).

Nice to have:

• Exposure to financial systems, capital markets platforms, or high-volume transactional systems.
• Experience with frontend micro-frontend (MFE) architectures.
• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS architectures and platform engineering concepts.

• Lead 1-2 teams of Software Engineers within the Investment Operations Corporate Actions Product Area, responsible for staffing and team development.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management to understand and refine customer outcomes.
• Lead day-to-day scrum team operations, managing both short-term deliverables and long-term improvements.
• Work with other engineering leaders on improvements in product quality, security, delivery, and system performance.
• Provide input on the strategic direction of product areas.
