Senior Software Engineer - Android

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years professional Android development experience.
• Deep proficiency in Kotlin, with strong idiomatic patterns and performance understanding; Java experience is a plus.
• Extensive experience with Android Studio, Android SDK, and modern architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture).
• Proven ability to design and build production-quality, scalable Android applications.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON parsing, and complex backend integrations.
• Strong command of asynchronous programming using Coroutines and Flow.
• Experience with modular app architecture, Gradle build systems, and dependency management.
• Proficient with version control (Git) and collaborative workflows.
• Excellent communication skills to influence technical direction.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading design discussions.
• Experience leveraging AI/ML technologies in mobile apps.

Nice to have:

• Expertise in video streaming using MediaCodec, HLS, RTSP, WebRTC, or custom media pipelines.
• Experience with Android NDK/JNI integration for native C/C++ code.
• Hands-on with Jetpack Compose for declarative UI.
• Advanced knowledge of Android Jetpack components: ViewModel, WorkManager, DataStore, Paging.
• Familiarity with reactive programming and advanced Kotlin Flow usage.
• Understanding mobile security best practices (encryption, secure storage, certificate pinning, authentication).
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for Android.
• Knowledge of mobile analytics and crash reporting tools (Firebase, Crashlytics, Sentry).
• Experience with broader Android ecosystem: Wear OS, Android TV, app widgets.
• Experience with iOS development: Swift, SwiftUI, Objective-C, Xcode.
• Background in IoT protocols or smart home/connected device ecosystems.

• Lead the design and development of complex Android features for a flagship mobile app.
• Own the full project lifecycle from requirements and architecture through deployment.
• Architect and implement real-time video streaming features using Android media frameworks including HLS/RTSP/WebRTC and native NDK/JNI integrations.
• Define and promote best practices for responsive, performant UIs following Material Design and modern Android architectures.
• Research, evaluate, and adopt new Android technologies and methodologies.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers via code reviews, design discussions, and pair programming.
• Contribute to cross-functional architecture decisions impacting multiple teams.
• Exercise strong technical judgment balancing speed and robustness.
• Participate in shaping the product roadmap and platform direction.
